Where the light is
I want to blend in
my friend Al with me
I blend in Grey
for nowhere is home
for me
No air on the streets
the dirty streets are growling
until I breathe
no more, they shift
through venom
on my skin
And so, go forth
through absence
Acid chair
Acid as I sleep
no more
in dead silence, I stay
awake, smoking out
the thoughts;
while throats are smashing
I am deaf as I am
gone, steady
mortal with human pain
I loathe
Silent night comes
with silent weep here
and now like a thousand years
in a family home
with nothing familiar
I lay down and watch
time passing by
my face, my body
aging in deep Grey

You’re very welcome. Your poetry is refreshing, while mine seems stale.

I hear a great loneliness in this one, almost a self-inflicted loneliness, a blending with the shadows, but not quite accepting what the shadows bring.

Yes, exactly… There was indeed loneliness when I wrote this poem, among other things, especially felt at nights. Into the nights, feelings are getting heavier… Thank you for your reply ❤

There are fewer distractions at night, just the quiet and the world asleep. Thoughts do swell and dominate in the dark.
