Odd people, I see them everywhere
They look through me, as if they know
Wrinkled brows and empty eyes
Oh nurse, they talk to me!
I see my past and all my future
in their old lazy hands
And oh, how we look alike
How much we suffer
Oh nurse, I see him in them,
but now these brains
they’re burning in guilt
Their weathered face, bothersome
There’s no time to turn away
when weakness came to be my strength,
I find it easy to despise them
But I only know the truth
Somewhere, inside out of place
that all I see in their reflection,
It’s a reminder of her deadpan face
Come nurse, it is time
your sugar coated pills
will blow my mind
And I hang on every inch
I’m mesmerized, I’m drowned
Fed of their double face skin
Oh please listen, I hang on him!
Two brothers, two sisters of mercy
Who left me in there, choked in tears?
When absence came to be reality
my loss was covered in wet arms
Oh nurse, you better come
Whimper to whimper
I lost sense
thinking I knew myself
Oh nurse what’s wrong with me?
Thinking I see what I can’t touch
Tempting as it is to walk away
Run feet
run!
